Holy Innocents - Anointing of the Sick

Sacraments: Anointing of the Sick

An Annual Service for the Sick is held in the Church during Eastertide. All those who are able to attend are made most welcome, and transport is arranged where needed. Please contact the parish team for further information.

Also, a Healing Mass is usually celebrated on the second Wednesday of each month, 7.30pm for 8pm. Changes are advertised in the newsletter and on posters around the Church.

The evening starts with half an hour of prayer and praise, and includes the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. During the Mass there is the chance to receive the Sacrament of the Sick and also to be prayed with, for any particular needs or intentions, both for yourself and for others.

Parish Prayer Book

This is to be found on a table on the left hand side of the porch as you enter the Church. You are welcome to write in this. These intentions are prayed for at the Healing Mass, Friday mornings in termtime, after the 10am Mass and any other meetings for prayer that take place. These will be advertised in the newsletter and you are warmly encouraged to join us. Prayers for the Healing Mass are also offered on these occasions.

Visiting the Housebound

Additionally, the Parish Team and Eucharistic Ministers visit the housebound and Orpington Hospital twice a week. They visit the sick to keep in touch and when appropriate celebrate the Sacrament of the Sick and distribute the Blessed Sacrament. However, we can only visit those we know about, so if you are aware of somebody who would like to have a visit or attend the Annual Service, please mention this to one of the Parish Team.
