CAFOD (the Catholic Fund for Overseas Development)
is the
main Catholic charity responding to need throughout the world.
It distributes
food to all, regardless of politics, creed or ethnic background.
Just as importantly,
it sets up and supports long-term projects to provide clean water, farming
equipment and training courses.
This encourages 'self-help' in communities
around the globe and brings renewed hope to millions.
The Parish has been
consistently generous towards CAFOD.
There is a slot for donations in the
wall above the newspaper table in the porch.
We intend to arrange speakers and slide shows from time
to time.

Blessing, Peace & Patience***
A Nigerian Mother & her twin daughters
*** Peace is in her mother Blessing's right arm & Patience the left.
Driven from her home by her husband when 4 months pregnant, frightened, exhausted and dangerously ill, Blessing turned to St Monica's for for help.
Blessing's babies were born prematurely at only 7 months gestation.
"My life has been a struggle. When I was pregnant I had nothing - just the dress i was wearing.
But I never gave up. I knew that God was not looking at my bad dress in Church.
He is taking care of my family."
One in 12 babies dies in Nigeria within a month of their birth!
Please support St Monica's Health Care Clinic, which saved Blessing and her babies,
thus enabling many more to be saved.
