St Vincent de PaulThe Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) is an international Catholic Welfare Society.

St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) Orpington Conference
Who.. What.. When.. Where..Why.. How?

Who.…….A small group of parishioners
What……A society set up to visit, befriend those in need & support with monetary help if appropriate, the latter both at home and abroad.
When…...one visit or two or more, possibly ongoing for years.
Where… Locally visiting, sending money abroad.
Why….. Jesus said.. “the poor will always be with us.”
Poor.. meaning:- deprived , underprivileged, unfortunate.
How…… by raising money, visiting at home & in hospital, enabling and caring.

Parishioners at Holy Innocents' are more than big-hearted and we thank you for your generosity. Some of the monies you have donated were spent helping those we visit in their homes, either for necessary items or vouchers, (rather than food parcels) during the year & at Christmas time. One-parent families, re-housed persons, the frail or vulnerable elderly and young, fugitives from violent relationships or societies, & immigrant refugees, regardless of creed or race, number among those our group visit.

Charity begins at home…but should not end there! Neither does it!

Holy Innocents' is ‘twinned’ with St. Augustine’s & Infant Jesus Conferences, both in Kerala India. We have supported several projects there: sewing machines, goats, education and now the Infant Jesus Conference have set up interest-free loans to families to set them up in business, for the only alternative was the use of loan sharks!

Next time we have a collection please be as generous as always. Thank you.

New members welcome. If interested please see one of the priests.

"Friends of the S.V.P,” has been launched by the Society for donations regularly once a year, £24 (£18 non-earners).  If you can help please sign the Become a Friend Form in the porch & an application form will be sent to you.

Or if preferred apply direct to: SVP for a membership application form: 5th Floor 291-299 Borough High St, London SE1 1JG
